‘Power Can Be Found in Many Places’

I like the term ‘outsider artist’ to describe myself with. To begin with, it’s accurate. I’m trying to create art without an artistic qualification, unless you count a rather dubious media degree. But more to the point, so much of my inspiration comes from the outside world, from trees and pylons and from the spaces where nature and technology meet. At a time when there is so much focus on the individual, I think it can be interesting to look at the world around the individual. Not all the answers lay within us, even if some do. And I’ve always felt like an outsider. For as far as back as I can remember anyway. So why not make art from that?
