Breary Marsh in Leeds is a beautiful enclave of life. Trees, plants, birds and insects are everywhere. It’s the sort of place that begs you to go off the beaten path and explore, even if parts of it could trap your feet in thick mud.

Some of the old trees are like works of art, by some master of abstraction.

It’s just over the road from a popular park, where families go to eat ice creams end enjoy the sun. City centre is just a half hour bus journey away. And yet it feels like another world from another time.
