We see it everywhere now. The hatred of thought and imagination.

To love art is to be labelled a hipster.

To be an expert is to be damned as an elitist.

To be anything other than ordinary in speech and appearance is to be denounced as inauthentic, as though authenticity comes in only one shape.

Don’t listen to it. Not any of it, not for one second. Don’t be a bullied child believing that the bullies must somehow be right.

Think. Imagine. Don’t be afraid.
