A Place of Safety

My friend Katie Plenty is currently curating a project to bring together a variety of artists’ work on postcards  and similarly sized photographs to create a collage of different images. My contribution will be one of my photographs of the ceiling of the Leeds Central Library. This is amongst my favourite places, not just for the wonderful internal architecture – which wouldn’t look out of place in Hogwarts – but because it is somewhere that I always feel at home. Based next to the Leeds Art Gallery, with which it shares a main entrance, this is a space devoted to thought, imagination and creativity. Here I am safe, at least for a little while.

If you would like to contribute to the collage, please send your work to Katie Plenty at
