The Tiled Hall Café in Leeds is one of my favourite places to go for a coffee and a read or a think about writing projects. It’s situated between two of my favourite locations, the art gallery and the beautiful central lending library. It also has a personal connection for me because, before it was restored several years ago, the space was home to the Commercial and Technical section of the library where I did three weeks’ work experience when I was 16. I never became a librarian, but this is a place that has remained close to my heart.
