The Butterfly
The Butterfly
It’s always worth taking a moment to take a look at butterflies. I spotted this beautiful specimen on the bank of the River Aire in Leeds. Whilst most of its fellows were a serene white, this one stood out for its resplendent pattern of orange and brown.
Butterflies numbers in the UK have fallen in recent years, perhaps as a result of humans’ impact on the environment. There are ongoing efforts to record and preserve all their different varieties. Hopefully they will continue to be around for a long while to come. The world would be so drab without them.
