Reality

I was talking to friends yesterday about the way zombies have suddenly become more popular than vampires and why this should be. Why are people choosing the bloodied, shambling ruin of a body over the velvet swish of the vampire? Maybe it’s the crash. Since 2008, when the banks fell and suddenly opulence seemed impossible  for anyone but the very few. Reality became something new then and perhaps our dreams changed too. You can still see it in the city. The reminders of our fragility and the frailty of recovery. Parts of the city are walking dead too.
