As the saying nearly goes, I don’t know much about History but I know what I like. I’m fascinated by the Egyptian, Aztec and Mayan cultures. Their art and architecture possessed an elegantly structured beauty. Some modern buildings seem to channel this aesthetic. Sloping surfaces receding into the sky recall the lines of an Egyptian pyramid or Aztec temple. They convey a sense of awe and a distinctly masculine aura of power. Something of the more brutal elements of those civilizations seems to survive in them too. Are these the homes of the new Sun Gods?
